Cartmel is a most characterful village, steeped in history with the 12th century Priory, the famous Cartmel races and more recently noted for its renowned Cartmel Sticky Toffee pudding. The village is Cumbrians answer to the Cotswolds with a wealth of inns, cafes and gift shops and is almost completely pedestrianised. Enjoying a picturesque location with narrow winding streets, picturesque market square and a stream running through the village. An ideal base to view the South Lakes and Morecambe bay including Market Cross, Water Pump and Fish Slabs.
