The South Lakes stretches from the tip of Lake Windermere, across to the market town of Kendal, down to the south coast of Cumbria.  The scenery is a diverse mix of mountains and lakes, sandy beaches to the south and west and quieter country lanes ideal for cycling to the east .  There are numerous villages scattered throughout the area with a wealth of shops and restaurants, along with traditional Cumbrian inns serving local ales.  There are many tourist attractions to keep both young and old entertained and Windermere is only a short drive away.
